About Lucid Records
Lucid Records is a small independent label built around one idea: music that gives you room to breathe. We release melodic downtempo and ambient records, the kind of thing you put on late in the evening when the day has finally gone quiet and you want the room to feel a little softer. This blog is where we write about how that music gets made.
Most of what we love comes down to three things: synths, reverb, and the space between the notes. So that is mostly what we write about here. A long decay tail that turns a simple chord into a whole landscape. The warmth of an old analog pad against a clean digital one. The way a room, real or imagined, changes the feeling of a sound before you have even heard the melody. We chase atmosphere, and we like taking it apart to see how it holds together.

Who is behind it
The label is run by a small group of people who make this music themselves, so everything here is written from inside the process rather than looking in from outside. When we praise a technique or a piece of gear, it is because we have leaned on it in our own work. When we are unsure about something, we say so.
